Basic Barre Chords

There are only three fingerings for all of the barre chords in this lesson. All three fingerings come from the three open chords E, A, and C as shown in the first row of chords. To play the barre chords, simply slide the chords up the neck and add the barre with your index finger. The numbers on the strings are the intervals. The R is the root note that identifies each chord. The numbers below each diagram are the fingers. The number to the right of each diagram is the fret. Study the chords left to right, right to left (rows), then top to bottom and bottom to top (columns).
